I will set up a West Dunbartonshire Jobs Taskforce to safeguard existing jobs, fight to bring new investment to the area and support Labour’s plans to help people back into work.

I will stand up for investment in health and care services, education and policing. The SNP have shown that when the going gets tough, their choice is to put up charges for the most vulnerable in our community.

I support a rise in the Basic State Pension, restoring the link with earnings and Pension Credit. The SNP should hang their heads in shame for targeting our older people with cuts and charges.

Labour has delivered the minimum wage, Working Families Tax Credit, record rises in Child Benefit, improved maternity and paternity rights and the Child Trust Fund to help make life better for families. The Tories would put all this at risk.

I will push forward the regeneration of Clydebank Waterfront and Dumbarton Town Centre; bringing investment to the banks of the Clyde and to the Vale of Leven. Tory cuts would be a devastating blow to regeneration in our area.
