MP URGES LOCAL GROUPS TO APPLY FOR RBS AWARDS
West Dunbartonshire MP Gemma Doyle is urging charities and voluntary organisations in West Dunbartonshire to apply for £6000 award funding through an RBS scheme.
The Community Force project, operated by RBS as part of their Customer Charter, gives community organisations the chance to win up to £6000, whilst encouraging greater community involvement and volunteering.
The project will make 3 individual awards of £6,000 to community groups throughout the west of Scotland, with the final decisions being made by a public vote on the Community Force website.
Any charity, organisation or group which works for the benefit of the local community can apply.
Local MP Gemma Doyle said,
“We all know how tight public funding is at the moment so the RBS Community Force scheme is a great opportunity for local community groups throughout West Dunbartonshire to apply for a £6,000 grant.
“There are many groups in West Dunbartonshire doing excellent community and voluntary work that could benefit from this project and I know RBS are keen to see the money go to a deserving cause.
“I would therefore encourage local groups to go ahead and submit an application."
The deadline for applications to the Community Force scheme is Sunday 4th September 2011.
