GEMMA DOYLE MP BACKS BIG ENERGY WEEK
West Dunbartonshire MP Gemma Doyle has backed Citizen’s Advice Scotland’s Big Energy Week, to help people to spend less on energy bills.
Citizens Advice Scotland’s Big Energy Week is a major campaign during which CAB advisers will help people spend less on heating and powering their home through checking their tariff, switching suppliers and insulating their home.
West Dunbartonshire MP Gemma Doyle said,
“Many people in West Dunbartonshire are really struggling to make ends meet and keep up with the cost of fuel bills. Despite announcements last week from some energy suppliers, the reality is that average bills have almost doubled since 2003, so it’s no wonder that people are finding it difficult to meet the increasing costs.
“Often quite simple measures can make all the difference and help people save money. Citizens Advice Scotland’s Big Energy Week campaign is helping people make these small changes which can lead to savings.
“Labour has called on the Tory-led Government to be tougher on the big energy companies and take action to stop people being ripped off. It’s important that we have a system that ensures that people are on energy deals that work for them and give the best value for money.”
